SOURCE, Sheridan's institutional repository, is an Open Access initiative offered to the Sheridan community through Library Services. The scholarly and creative works archived on SOURCE are freely available for others to read, download, and build on.
Institutional repositories are considered the Green route to open access. Gold open access allows research to be published in journals available without a pay wall, making the research free and available to all. (Learn more about Green and Gold open access.)
On SOURCE you'll find research on climate change contributing to the world's knowledge base, as well as many other research topics.

Open educational resources (OERs) are freely available, high quality learning materials that can be downloaded, edited, and shared to better serve all students (SPARC’s definition). OERs are part of the open movement because they help:
Reduce or eliminate textbook costs for students
Improve students’ ability to enroll and complete their courses
Enhance curriculum and pedagogy since faculty can curate materials and contextualize content with local examples based on their students’ interests
Support an academic program’s transition to a zero-textbook-cost model
Visit Sheridan Library’s OER Guide to learn more about OERs and how the Library can help you get started with using or creating these resources.
