Q:  Which students are eligible for FactSet IDs?

A:  All Finance BBA and Diploma students 2nd year or higher are eligible for FactSet IDs. IDs will remain active until students leave Sheridan.   

Q:  How do I get passwords for my class?

​A:  To enroll an entire class for FactSet IDs, please fill in a Factset bulk ID request form and email it to Sandra. If you need a copy of the form, please reach out to Sandra. Students joining your course late can self-register (see One-off password requests below). Contact Sandra Shoufani in the Sheridan Library if you have questions.

Students may phone FactSet support if they need help locating existing passwords. The FactSet helpline number is 1.877.322.8738 

One-off password requests

  • Students can self-register by filling out this webform  https://advantage.factset.com/academic_idrequest
  • Students must use their @sheridancollege.ca email address on this webform or they will not be processed. 
    • Students must not use SLATE/D2L emails on this webform. 
    • Students must not input an email address that ends in @sheridanc.on.ca.

Q:  How do I get a password for myself?

​A:  Faculty can choose between two password types, the FactSet Web or the FactSet Installed Software (includes Excel Add-In)

•FactSet Web
–Requires no installation and can be accessed in any internet browser
–Does not include MS Office integration capabilities (Excel add-in)
–Learning portal can be accessed at https://learning.factset.com
•FactSet Workstation
–Requires local software installation on the computer
–Includes office integration capabilities, such as an Excel Add-in
–Learning Portal is the first tab in your Academic workspace (or type @LRN)

Q:  Can FactSet fit into my course?  If yes, how?

​A:  Personal consultations can be set up to explore how FactSet can be integrated into your courses and assignments.  Please contact Sandra for details.

Q:  May I use FactSet for another course I am teaching or taking at a different school? Can I use it for consulting work I am doing?  

​A:  Our academic usage policy with FactSet states that FactSet may only be used for academic purposes related to Sheridan College teaching and learning.
