Digital Literacies

Digital Literacy is part of a network of interconnected literacies important for navigating an information-rich world, including information literacy, navigating and evaluating digital tools, and more. Library and Learning Services is committed to enhancing digital literacy across the Sheridan community through our Teaching and Learning Program.

Learning Services offers asynchronous modules and in-person support for using productivity tools at Sheridan, including SLATE, Microsoft 365 apps, and more.

Librarians offer synchronous and asynchronous modules focused on ethical use of AI for research assignments, and highlight skills in building effective prompt strategies and problem formulation.

Librarians offer synchronous and asynchronous modules on visual discernment and criticality in digital environments.

Librarians offer synchronous and asynchronous virtual and in-person modules to support effective database and web searching, source selection and evaluation, and ethical use of sources.

Four faculty and staff from Library & Learning Services have currently received special training on Adobe Express to support both students and faculty with their creative digital projects.
