Continuing & Professional Studies Librarian

We collect academic material related to all programs and courses offered at Sheridan. Along with the traditional library materials in print (books, journals, etc), we increasingly collect online material so that you can easily access our content at any time from anywhere!

Search the Library

Databases & Streaming Media

We have over 200 databases on a wide range of subjects and disciplines. Use the A-Z Database List to access databases and streaming media sites, which includes content from journal articles, newspapers, images, videos, tutorials, and more.

Ebooks

We currently have more ebooks than books on the shelves! We get ebooks from more than one company. Some can be downloaded, but most are available without downloading. All you need is your Sheridan Credentials to access them! Find ebooks through Summon.

Borrow textbooks from the library for 3hr loan periods. Keep in mind:

• We do not have a copy of all textbooks for all courses.
• To look up a textbook in the library, you will need the title, author, and year of the textbook. This information can usually be found on your SLATE course and in the course outline for each of your courses.

Find textbooks from the library by searching for the titles and authors in Summon.

The Tutoring Centre offers tutoring through drop-in, appointments, and scheduled group tutoring. Book up to 1.5 hours per week, per subject at no additional charge.

Subjects covered by tutoring include:

The Citation Guide

See the Citing Your Sources for everything you need to know about citation. The guide includes reference list examples, video tutorials, and more.

The Tutoring Centre

Drop by the Tutoring Centre at your campus. See the Hours and locations.

Book a citation specialist through the Tutoring booking system. Bring your citations and references, and Citation specialists will help answer your citation questions.

The Library and Learning Commons at each campus are dynamic, collaborative, student-centered spaces. Whether you're studying on your own or working on a project with your group, the learning commons is the place to be!

Food & Drink

• Snack food and covered drinks are permitted in the library.
• No hot meals, please!
• Vending machines are generally located just outside of the library.

Noise & Disruptions

• Excessive noise is considered disrespectful of others. Please use low voices.
• Use headphones when listening to audio.
• Quiet study spaces are available at each campus library.
