Thousands of downloadable e-books covering a wide range of academic disciplines. Note: Use Firefox, Chrome or Safari. Edge is not supported by this database. Number of permitted users varies by title.
O'Reilly Learning
A good source for books and videos related to technology, including Autocad.
ENGnetBASE (CRCnetBASE)
Over 2,000 handbooks in civil, mechanical, and electrical engineering, published from 2016 - 2024.

Career & Technical Education Database
Includes practical information from over 1000 publications related to career & vocations, trade & industry, technical resources and job search.
Applied Science and Technology Source
Includes a mix of practical industry information and scholarly studies, buyer's guides, directories, conference proceedings and more covering applied science and technology.
Canadian Reference Centre
International and Canadian magazines and newspapers, images, newswires, reference books, and company information.

These sites offer information from key regulatory organizations. Most do not offer freely downloadable copies of codes and standards. Ask at your campus library for standards available on library shelves.

World Standards Services Network
A useful FAQ that provides a good overview and introduction to standards.
Codes Canada (National Research Council of Canada)
Access publications of the building, energy and safety codes that guide the design and construction of homes and other buildings in Canada

CSA OnDemand
Provides access to the standards collection from the Canadian Standards Association (CSA) Group, in English and French, for current and historical standards.
ASTM Compass
The ASTM standards provide the test methods, specifications, guides, and practices that support industries and governments worldwide. NOTE: The library also holds hard copies of the ASTM standards at the Davis Campus for reference purposes.
CCOHS: Canadian Centre for Occupational Health and Safety
Includes Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS), CHEMINFO Health and Safety, toxicology exposure limits, office ergonomics, and regulatory information.
