Using Sources

Locating Sources

Once you have a sense of the type of source you are looking for, you can begin searching. But where to begin? You may be tempted to stick with the familiar -- Google or another popular search engine. But there are some very good reasons to make your way to the library and check out the unique resources available there, too.

To find sources in the library, start with the library homepage. From here, you can access:

  • Page 1+ - one search engine to search almost all library collections on the shelves and online.
  • Databases - the many individual sites and collections we subscribe to online
  • Research Guides - guides created by library staff to help you find resources in your subject area

Check out the Search Strategies guide for search tips. And be sure to speak with library staff (in person, online, or email) if you need some help getting started. See Contact Us.
