What is Open Access?
"Open Access is the free, immediate, online availability of research articles coupled with the rights to use these articles fully in the digital environment. Open Access ensures that anyone can access and use these results—to turn ideas into industries and breakthroughs into better lives." (SPARC, 2017)
Open access (OA) is free, unrestricted, barrier-free access to online research. It is a principle adopted by researchers by which scholarly content is made freely available online. This research has next to no copyright and licensing restrictions. Usually authors of OA require attribution or a citation in order to use their work.
