Interlibrary loans enable borrowers to access physical library materials from libraries around the world. Members of the Sheridan community may make a request for an item to be delivered to any Sheridan campus from another participating institution.
Only current Sheridan students, faculty, and staff may request loans from Sheridan Library.
No. All you need to provide is the bibliographic information (author, title, edition, etc). Library staff will use their own system to locate the best lending institution.
In some cases, we are able to provide hardcopy copies of digital material, depending on copyright and licensing restrictions. Please feel free to ask, and library staff will notify you if there are any difficulties obtaining copies.
Any fees charged by the lending library are passed on to the borrower. We will attempt to obtain your loan at the lowest possible cost. Please indicate the dollar ($) amount that you are willing to pay.
Interlibrary loan is usually done by mail, so materials will take at least one week to arrive.
When your interlibrary loan is ready to be picked up, an email will be sent to your Sheridan email account. You will have one week to pick up the item.
In accordance with Fair Dealing, materials provided through inter-library loan may only be used for research, private study, review, criticism or news reporting.
