Journals

Scholarly journals present research findings from researchers around the world. They provide some of the most authoritative evidence within the social sciences. See Scholarly Sources.

Search Tips

When searching for research articles, start with the population you would like to study, and what you want to know about that population.

Example: women AND household chores

As you browse the results, look for other terms that researchers might be using to describe the topic.

Example: women AND "division of household labor"

Databases & Sites

Why search a single database at a time? Each database below has a unique collection of journals, as well as unique search tools, search algorithms, and subject coverage. By searching individual databases you can often discover articles that may not have filtered to the top of your search across the entire library. It's always a good idea to search in more than one search box!
