As an independent authority, Bluesign® checks the progress of participating companies and ensures ongoing continued development of its stringent criteria and solutions. It traces each textile’s path along the manufacturing process, making improvements at every stage from factory floor to finished product.

Cradle to Cradle Certified ® is the global standard for products that are safe, circular, and responsibly made. The Cradle to Cradle Institute innovates and optimizes materials and products according to the world’s most advanced science-based measures for material health; product circularity; clean air and climate protection; water and soil stewardship; and social fairness. The Institute administers a rigorous, third-party product certification program. To certify a material or product, companies must work with a qualified independent assessment body to ensure their products meet the standard’s requirements.

With over 25 years of experience in sustainable forestry management, FSC uses its expertise to promote the responsible management of the world’s forests, by combining the environmental, economic, and social spheres. FSC sets the standards for (1) forest management certification and (2) chain of custody certification, which provides credible assurance that product materials originate from well-managed forests, controlled sources, or reclaimed materials.

GREENGUARD establishes test methods and emission limits for products that may emit harmful airborne chemicals in homes, schools, or other in-door environments. These chemicals are called volatile organic compounds (VOCs). All certified products are subject to a review of the manufacturing process and routine testing to help manufacturers make and market products that have low chemical emissions and contribute to healthier indoor air.

Oeko-Tex’s six certification standards ensure products have been tested for the absence of harmful substances and ensure materials have been manufactured under sustainable and socially responsible conditions.
