Setting Goals & Staying Motivated

We all know that setting goals is important, but we often don't realize how critical goals are to our personal and professional success. Setting goals can help us build new behaviours, guide our focus, and sustain our energy levels regardless of new challenges we might face in our lives.

A key part of time management is knowing what you want to achieve so you can create a plan to help you reach that end goal.

In this section, we'll talk about the importance and value of goal setting. Some of the topics include

Pause & Reflect

Take a couple of minutes to think about the following questions:

  • When did I last set a goal for myself? Why did I set that goal?
  • How did I react when I hit an obstacle that was blocking me from reaching my goal?
  • Did I achieve my goal, did I finish part of the goal, or did I not complete that goal?
  • Did my goal change after I started working on it?
  • How did I measure my progress towards my goal? How did I know if I achieved my goal or not?
