Where Do I Start My Research?

Sheridan Library carries a wide variety of high-quality, credible resources covering the many topics relevant to the programs being taught at Sheridan. Our resources come in digital and print format.

Use the Search the Library box on the library homepage to find content from the many different databases and collections that we subscribe to, as well as items on library shelves. This is a great place to start your search!

Once you become familiar with library resources, you'll quickly get to know which databases are best for your specific information needs. The Sheridan Library lists all of our databases and websites through the Databases A-Z list.

Also, use the Research Guides to find all types of resources specific to your research topics.

Creating an Outline to Organize Your Ideas

An outline is a quick and simple way to organize your ideas and key points in your essay. It can help speed up your first draft since you have already identified your main arguments and supporting points. It can also help you avoid getting off-track as you are writing. You would be able to see the progression of your arguments and analyze whether they support the thesis or help answer the research question.
