OER Guide

Publishing OER

Sharing your OER outside of Sheridan is easy. It also raises your academic profile, ensures more educators and students can benefit from your OER, and contributes to the open education community! Note that if your project receives a grant, the funder may require you to make your work publicly available online. Below are some of the options for publishing your OER:

SOURCE, Sheridan's institutional repository, is a great place to start if you want to publish your OER. It leverages online search tools like Google and Google Scholar to increase the visibility and dissemination of your work, meaning increased citation counts and greater awareness of your expertise.

The SOURCE Team can help you navigate publishing issues such as checking accessibility, file formats, registering for an ISBN/ISNN, selecting the appropriate Creative Commons licence, copyright, etc. Please contact our team at source@sheridancollege.ca to get started!
