Citation Management

Citation management software can help you save time by collecting, storing, and organizing your citation information. In many cases, you can export citation information directly from the source right into the citation manager, which then allows you to automatically build a reference in a variety of standard citation styles, such as APA, MLA, or Chicago.

Avoid Plagiarism

Before submitting your assignment, download and complete the Checklist for Assignments.

  • Start assignments early. Be sure you fully understand the requirements.
  • Manage your time wisely. Use good time management strategies to avoid rushing to complete your assignment.
  • Take careful notes. Follow good note-taking practices. Include reference information in your notes for each source you access.
  • Learn to cite properly. Citing your sources takes practice! Ask a citation specialist at the Tutoring Centre if you need help.
  • Get help with paraphrasing, summarizing and quoting. English tutors from the Tutoring Centre are available to help.
