To share ebooks, online articles, streaming videos, etc., from Sheridan Library's databases, the best practice is to use persistent links. Persistent links ensure on- and off- campus access to the materials and may be posted in SLATE.
While linking is generally allowed, the licence terms of some databases do not permit downloading and re-posting PDFs in SLATE. To check what is permitted for a resource:
- In Summon, click on the "Permitted Uses" link for the resource you're interested in. See below for an example.
- The "Permitted Uses" information is also available on the A-Z Databases List.
