NFB Education is a film collection comprised of documentaries, animations, and films that examine global issues of concern to Canadians by the National Film Board of Canada. Also see their Interactive products. To sign up for full access, please submit a ticket to the Library Helpdesk.

How do I?

Copy a Direct Link

Copy and paste the URL in the address bar of the browser you are using when viewing the video.

Embed a Video

  1. Navigate to the video you wish to use.
  2. Click the Embed button '</>' beneath the video player and video description.
  3. Select the width you wish the embedded video to be.
  4. Copy and paste the generated embed code into your site. 

 

Create a Playlist

  1. Sign in to NFB.
  2. Navigate to the video you wish to use.
  3. Click on Add to Playlist beneath the video player.

NOTE: to create an NFB account, please submit a ticket to the Library Helpdesk.

 

Create 'Chapters'

  1. Sign in to NFB.
  2. Navigate to the video you wish to use.
  3. Click on Create Chapters beneath the video player.

FAQ for Instructors

Can I add a video to SLATE?

Yes. You can embed videos in SLATE using the instructions provided above.

Can I stream this for my students while in class?

Yes. Streaming in a classroom setting is permitted.

How do I add playlists or create 'chapters'?

This is a faculty only features, please submit a ticket to the Library Helpdesk, to learn more.
